Homecoming: A much awaited time of the year for the school alumni to returns to their alma maters & reconnect with people, places and traditions
It is the tradition of welcoming back alumni of a school, a tradition in many universities, colleges, 

and high schools in the United States

Homecoming means football, festivities, and friendship.

A really exciting time for us girls, of course, picking out the perfect outfit for the dance, decorating mums, etc. We only need a reason to dress up pretty.
Oh & that reminds me of a really funny saying I read a while back

"The reason women don’t play football is because eleven of them would never wear the same outfit in public."
That's hillarious. But...duh! we of course have to look pretty.
