Hey Fashionaistas, So the most awaited festival is around the corner, Rakshabandhan!!! Yay!! I am totally excited to collect all the gifts from my brothers. & what makes it even more special is that I am in INDIA & will be celebrating with my family. For my readers from outside INDIA " Rakshabandhan is an indian festival, all the sisters tie a band on their brother's wrist & get gifts from the brother & a promise that the brother will always protect the sister"
It is definitely amazing to be an Indian girl, if I must say. While in all the cultures the dads & brothers protect their daughter & sisters but here in india they do it at a whole different level, which at times feel annoying & irritating but when you think about it, its kinda cute
On another note, I'd say, Yes, You do have your brothers & dad to protect you but they can't be with you every single minute. So, its my request to all the parents to train your girls to be able to take care of herself in times of need. Enroll her for self defense classes. Not just girls but boys too should be trained , but since in our society girls are generally enrolled for more acreative classes & boys for sports, I am stressing more so on Girls.
We don't need another NIRBHAYA to be a victim again
On a lighter note lets get decked up for rakshabandhan ,a festival that celebrates the special bond between a brother & a sister.
I'd suggest a flowy anarkali with some accessories. I'd recommend this site sareez,
It is an amazing store to buy indian outfits at a very reasonable price in USA, & many other countries. They make cutsom made suits, blouses, lehengas etc. You just need to send them your measurements. This custom made suit fits me perfectly. The parcel arrived within few days. I used 'live chat' to discuss about the quality of material & embroidery & was completely satisfied with the response I got. THis anarkali came with red pants, I'll show them in another post.
The collection of anarkali is really beautiful & they carry one of a kind pieces. check them out.
